Question 4.
-
The Srebrenica massacre was a case of genocide since its main intention was to wipe out the Muslim population in the country. When a massive, well-coordinated, and well-financed military such as the one under Ratko Mladic attacks a helpless and outnumbered community, the results are often devastating. There were many humanitarian rights violations, such as murder, deportations, persecution, separation, and extermination, which call for the utilization of humanitarian law.

The use of brute force by the Bosnian Serb armed forces in Srebrenica was unnecessary since the community was not armed well enough to mount a serious opposition. A diplomatic approach would have sufficed.
