You are working as the lead educator in the toddler room. You have a new assistant who has recently started in the room working with you. She is currently studying her Certificate III and 17 years old and very inexperienced. Looking at the roster next week you notice that she is rostered on to be in the room on her own while you have rostered planning time.  

1. By leaving the assistant in the room on her own what Regulation is the service not complying with?
2. Who would you report the breach of regulation to and how would you raise this issue?
3. What is your legal responsibility as the Lead educator with the 17year old assistant?
4. What are you legal rights if the Director does not change the roster?
5. Explain two (2) other potential legal issues that may occur in early childhood. For each issue explain how you would respond to the situations.
