Amelia has recently moved up to the room and is 2.6years. When she was in the toddler room she was toilet trained and only had a nappy on for rest time. She is quite a shy reserved child and since moving into your room has started having toilet accidents at least 2-3 times a day. You discuss this with the Lead Educator in the room and you both believe it may be occurring since Amelia is too shy to ask for assistance. Later that morning you are at a small table experience and notice that there is a puddle under Amelia’s chair….. (answer part A to complete this section). After you and Amelia have cleaned up the accident Amelia tells you she wants to choose her own clothes however she insists on wearing a singlet and shorts but it is quite cold and the middle of winter.
  1. Explain in detail how you will manage this toilet accident to protect Amelia’s self-esteem and privacy.
  2. How will you ensure that Amelia’s clothing needs and her personal preferences for clothing is met while still meeting the services requirements for health and safety?
    3.5.A Explain the current recommendations of the Cancer Council Sun Smart program for early childhood settings.   3.5.B Using the recommendations for Part A explain how you promote these recommendations in your service.   3.5.C Create a floor plan of your current room and then locate on the plan: • Sources of natural and artificial lighting • Sources of ventilation and fresh air Then explain how your room ensures that there is a balance of natural and artificial lighting, good ventilation throughout the day and year. Upload a copy of the floor plan to Cloud Assess. 3.5.D  ist all of the transitions and changes to routine that occur throughout the day in your room. Then for each change of routine explain how you prepare the children for each change. 3.5.E  Explain three (3) potential impacts to the children if their routine or environment was changed suddenly. 3.5.F  Which principles of the ECA Code of Ethics “In relation to children…” does having predictable transitions support.
